Sleeping “Patterns”

I’ve always had a sleeping problem of some kind.  I have a hard time falling asleep, and a hard time waking up.  I have phases where I sleep too much, or not at all.

Lately, I’ve been sleeping in until 1 or 3 pm.  My dad does not approve of my frequent naps, because he feels that I should sleep through the night and wake up before 10.  So, I’ve been avoiding naps.  And I try, I really do try, but nap or no nap, for the past two weeks I haven’t been able to sleep until 6am.  Basically, I fall asleep right before my dad wakes up.  The time I get up varies…between 10am and 5pm.

Meh, I don’t know.  I’m just getting worried.  To be perfectly honest, I like being up at night because no one talks to me, and I can get a lot done.  Even though my mom’s body clock is as crazy as mine, we just spend our nights in silence.  She sleeps during the day, then logs onto the computer around 1 or 2, and plays WordFerret until 7 or 8 if she’s not at work.  But she has an excuse, I don’t.  Anyway, we she doesn’t really say anything when I get out of my room at 5am after laying in bed for 3 hours, waiting for sleep.  Then I just sit on the sofa until 6am, when I finally get sleepy.

I can’t sleep at night.  My momma doesn’t say anything about it to my dad.  He would be upset if he found out.

Any suggestions?  Or should I not even worry?

don’t worry about it. just don’t leave the house and walk around the neighborhood at 3 in the morning. apparently that’s bad.
