I purchased Nicolysis.net in June 2008 from NameCheap, and the site is hosted by E-Starr.
The name “Nicolysis” is something I came up with just after I started high school. During the first week, I received a list of Latin suffixes from my biology teacher to become acquainted with, since we were soon to encounter an onslaught of new science terms.
I’ve always like to play with words, particularly interesting ones. One of the previous online handles I used, “Moronicole,” was a combination of the word “moronic” and my name, “Nicole.” I tired of that after a while, particularly after I learned that I was not the first to come up with the name.
I longed for something original and unique that also included my name for my new GMail account. Combining my name, “Nicole,” with the suffix “-lysis,” meaning a dissolution or breaking down, I came up with NICOLYSIS.
After a quick Google search, I was pleased to see no indication that someone had come up with it first, and thus claimed it as my own.
I’m not sure as to why I only recently acquired it as a domain, but I’m glad I did. It’s my mind baby.
